Modular Project

Tools used: Autodesk Maya 2012, Adobe Photoshop CS5, XNormal, NDo2.

Dev Time: 3 weeks (for piece creation and level set-up).

This is a level I created in Unity 3D using modular pieces of my own creation. It uses the following pieces modeled in Maya and textured in Photoshop CS5:

  1. Floor
  2. Wall
  3. Window wall
  4. Doorway wall
  5. Supports
  6. Central terminal
  7. Computer monitor
  8. Roof
  9. Roof with skylight
  10. Hallway
  11. Doorway Trim
  12. Door (front = locked, back = unlocked)
  13. Pipe
  14. Pipe Fluid
  15. Pipe connector
  16. Pipe elbow
  17. Pipe base
  18. Meter Machine

This maze takes place on an abandoned space station, with signs of heavy damage and warning lights weakly glowing in the darkness. Most of the pieces have glow maps and add to the eerie feeling. I reuse the pieces in a variety of ways. Doors become platforms, monitors become tables, and the various machine and pipe pieces are combined in a variety of ways that keep the rooms looking unique and fresh.
